California-China Climate Institute Proudly Launches the Subnational Methane Monitor

Methane, a greenhouse gas 80 times more potent than CO2 in the near term, drives nearly one-third of current warming. Yet it remains under-addressed in many climate strategies. To stay on track for 1.5 °C, we must slash methane emissions quickly, especially from energy, agriculture, and waste.

Research

The Institute will utilize the University's expertise to advance joint research on low-carbon transportation, carbon pricing, climate adaptation and resilience, sustainable land use, policy enforcement, and more.
