Bobing Qiu is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics. He is interested in applying tools in economics to study issues related to environment, energy, and climate change. His current project aims to quantitatively understand the benefits of China's large-scale transmission lines to the power system and local economic agents.
Prior to coming to Berkeley, he worked as a pre-doctoral research fellow at the Energy Policy Institute at the University of Chicago-China, where he studied the mortality effects of air pollution, and political economy of policy experimentations in China. He holds a bachelor's degree in financial economics from Peking University.
