Rachel Wam is a Master of Laws (LLM) candidate in Berkeley Law, with an intended specialization in environmental law. She has a focused interest in environmental law and policy, and climate change law. At CCCI, Rachel is researching on the public health benefits of concurrently addressing climate and air quality issues in California and China, which aims to inform future climate and air quality policies.
Prior to joining Berkeley Law and CCCI, Rachel assisted Professor Jolene Lin at the National University of Singapore with research on climate change litigation in the Global South. She was also a research assistant at the Asia-Pacific Centre for Environmental Law, where she updated and edited the United Nations Environment Program’s report titled “Environmental Courts & Tribunals – 2022: A Guide for Policy Makers.”
Rachel was enrolled in the double degree program in law and liberal arts at the National University of Singapore and Yale-NUS College, where she obtained a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honors) and Bachelor of Arts with Honors (Liberal Arts). She graduated second in her class at the Faculty of Law, and summa cum laude with a minor in literature at Yale-NUS College.
